TITLEA Connection between Finite $W$-Algebras and Yangian Algebras

ABSTRACT A finite W-algebra is a certain associative algebra constructed from a semisimple Lie algebra g and its nilpotent element. Finite W-algebras have several connections to other branches of mathematics, but they are difficult to study. In this talk, we will sketch a beautiful connec- tion between finite W-algebras and Yangian algebras when g = glN, the general linear Lie algebra. Such a connection gives an explicit de- scription of W-algebras and hence provides a nice method to study W-algebras. Moreover, we will mention some recent progress of gener- alization of such a connection when g = glM|N, the general linear Lie superalgebra.
