TITLE Singularities and the Space of Arcs

ABSTRACT In the study of higher dimensional geometry, singularities play very interesting role. One the one hand, singularities usually causes a lot of difficulty; on the other hand, they are delicate and contains ample information. There are various approaches to understand singularities: algebraical, geometric, topological, combinatorial, etc. In this talk, we are going to introduce the singularities in minimal model program and arc spaces and survey the recent researches among the relations between these two topics.
