TITLE Supersingular Abelian Surfaces and Class Number Formulas

ABSTRACT The classical theory of Deuring gives a one-to-one correspondence between supersingular elliptic curves and ideal classes of a maximal order of the quaternion Q-algebra ramified at {p,\infty}. There is also an explicit formula counting these geometric objects. Based on the full Honda-Tate theory and generailzing Eichler's theory for definite quaternion algebras, we describe explicitly a similar correspondence for supersingular abelian surfaces and make an explicit formula counting them. This is joint work with Jiangwei Xue and Tse-Chung Yang.
