TITLE Traveling Wave Solutions of the 3-Species Lotka-Volterra Competition System with Diffusion

ABSTRACT The n-species competition-diffusion system of Lotka-Volterra-Gause type is important in mathematical ecology. We focus on travelling wave solutions of this system. When n=2, the system is a monotone flow. There has been a lot of study on the existence, uniqueness, stability of the traveling waves. For n=3, the system is no longer a monotone flow. There are only limited results about the travelling wave solutions. Using the method of exact solutions and the bifurcation theory of heteroclinic orbits in dynamical systems, we are able to obtain 3-species travelling waves and find many interesting phenomena.
