TITLE From elliptic curves to Drinfeld modules

ABSTRACT Drinfeld modules over function field is an analogue of elliptic curves over number field. We review the Legendre relation, differentials of the second kind, and de Rham's theorem for elliptic curves. Then explain how these beautiful pieces are worked out analogously for Drinfeld modules by Anderson-Deligne-Gekeler-Yu.
Finally we come to the very recent development on algebraic independence for periods and quasiperiod for Drinfeld modules.
