I am not very impressed by this film. The development of the main character was arrested at age 10. As a result, one has a feeling that he is incapable of expressing the deep feelings in the music (not that he ever played any real deep music in that film) he plays but rather just "simulate" these feelings. Although the sound track is filled with beautiful music (mostly Chopin), the character is so wind up that there is no joy in hearing him play. Finally what is the big deal with "Rach 3"? All this should not be taken to be criticisms to the real person this movie is based on. The real person may indeed be a great piano player, but the one on screen does not convince me so. Eugene Xia
